Sick little one

today and I had to go to work. He needed LOTS of attention tonight - isn't that how it goes for the working mom???? One more day of work and then some down time / family togetherness time. I cannot wait!

A sad sad day

some days are tough ones to get through and make you so thankful for what you have. A local family lost their home, the mother and infant son are gone, and the father/husband is in the burn center.... no explanation at this time, just sorrow. Another coworker with Lou Gehrig's disease has been released from the hospital to go home, DNR. Bless you all........

Bonus Day

took the afternoon off for a dr appt for my dad and it was changed - so I watched a movie with DH and picked the kids up early from school. Bonus!

Happy Birthday a day late

but we did celebrate it up right on your actual birthday - A turned 9. When asked how his first (and second) day of being 9 was he replied they were better than he expected. Now that's an accomplishment because believe me, he had HIGH expectations of his day/weekend. Now, if only we can keep up the success for T's birthday. He REALLY liked A's gifts and hopes his are as good - I will NOT shop anymore! ;)

A day late

but we did it up green yesterday and enjoyed!!

24 hours

Now we all take it for granted - the electric, running water, lights, internet. I hate when the power goes out and usually escape to my parents house because they have a generator. So, after getting a new coal/oil furnace, we bought a generator a couple months ago. A couple weeks ago there was a huge snowstorm and we worried about the power going out so we bought the rest of the 'stuff' to hook it up.

Last night the wind broke the pole outside our house and the transformer was on the ground outside the basement. The wires were almost pulled off the house and were laying on DH's truck. 24 hours with no electric. It isn't that long really, yet seems like forever. 24 hours of no heat makes for a very cold 54 degree house. 24 hours and I'm feeling a dirty feeling head of hair. 24 hours and two children are starting to get cold feet and are bored. 24 hours later we thank the electric company technicians as they drive away. 23 hours later the generator is hooked to the furnace...

Things that make me go EEEK? Coming out of work to see this mud ALL over my car. Memo to self: do NOT park by the street when a puddle in on the other side of the snow drift!

Long week

an unexpected sarcoma diagnosis in the family sure puts life in turmoil - trying to get some sense of balance back..... that and some scrap therapy are desperately needed.

Tuesday Night TV

Well it's BL time and taping AI... tomorrow night taping AI and going to a hockey game. Fun times!

and disappears - not sure what happened to last week but it's gone and a new one has begun. Just trying to fit it all in...

TV time

Biggest Loser is back and American Idol is on. I'm not a huge Idol fan but a local boy has made it to the top 20 and probably going further so it's major TV time. I'm not used to that and I see the time it takes up........ better get to bed!
